Keeping up with social media
In our most recent blog post, we chatted with the talented Bruna Rico and discussed some of her challenges on social media. Bruna mentioned the difficulty of keeping up with every new social media platform and posting format.
Talk about RELATABLE! One minute you’re tweeting, the next you’ve accidentally stumbled into a voice dialogue on Twitter Spaces and you don’t even know where you are or that this feature existed. Do you have no idea what we’re talking about? Take a deep breath, Cleo is here for you!
Planning
You don’t need to be on every platform. That’s right. We said it. It’s more important to focus on the ones that work best for your business. You reap more value from doing a great job on one platform than an okay-ish job on five different platforms. Trust us - we did a whole podcast episode on the topic.
Once you have an idea of which platform(s) you would like to focus on, it’s time to plan! Sure, social media may look like everything is happening in real-time, but we’ll let you in on a secret: social media is all about planning in advance.
We always recommend a monthly brainstorm and then getting all your posts into a content calendar. Seeing all your images laid out will tell you if everything looks exactly as you envisioned and it will allow you to write, edit, re-edit, ask a friend to edit. Most important of all it helps you keep track of all your fab ideas.
Pro-tip: you can use similar content on similar platforms.
Evolution
As you find yourself mastering a platform, getting more comfortable and a better understanding of what your followers want to see most from you - it’s time to deliver just that!
Enter: scheduling. What keeps social media managers sane and helps meet social media goals is a scheduled content calendar. Sure, things might come up, but this lets you sleep easy knowing that there is a post scheduled, and you can focus on your business. There are many scheduling tools out there, free and paid, but most platforms now have native scheduling options available, like Creator Studio on Facebook.
Growth
AHH! Growth doesn’t have to be scary, although it may seem so far away at times. As your business grows and expands, you will inevitably need more hands on deck.
This is the perfect time to start testing out new platforms, putting even more time into social media and growing your digital presence.
